Why we Celebrate the Kumbh Mela Haridwar (Story Behind)
It is believed that millions of years ago when the “Samudra Manthan” Takes place between Devtas and Danvas then from that process a lot of things came out like Kalpbriksh, Kamdhenu cow, and an Amrit Kalash. Now the battle began between devtas and danavas for that Amrit Kalash. So Devta ran away with Kalash and few drops of Amrit falls. Since the Kalash is called Kumbh in Hindi so the place where these Drops fall is known as the four places of Kumbh Mela. Kumbh Mela of Haridwar is the remembrance of that incident and if you take bath during Kumbh then it is believed to be a very sacred bath.
